 For Today: April 30, 2025

Looking out my window...
it's sunny and warm.

I am hoping...
that Dan feels much better. He's getting an iron infusion today, and after tomorrow he'll have a week off from the chemo pills.

I am thinking...
about how we finally ordered our new home, and how I'm looking forward to moving.
This is the lot model, ours will be a dark gray color.

I am thankful...
that Dan and I are going away this weekend! We are going to A Weekend to Remember -a marriage retreat by Family Life ministries. It's going to be up in Portland, Maine.

One of my favorite things...
is springtime. Yesterday was a warm day and I took a walk with Andi and Sid.

I am creating...
more colorful and fun weekly and monthly spreads in my Happy Planner.

I am listening to...
the audio book called The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. It's a novel about a love story about a Jew who was imprisoned at Auschwitz during WWII and forced to tattoo numbers on the incoming prisoners. It's based on a true story, and it's really well written.

I am wearing...
jeans and a tan sweater with white stripes.

I am reading...
Almost Amish: One Woman's Quest for a Slower, Simpler, more Sustainable Life  by Nancy Sleeth. It's gotten better, and I'm finding that the author has a sense of humor. I'm just reading it very slowly.

I am watching...
the TV series Community. I got Dan to try it, and he likes it!  I watched it years ago with the kids-so funny!

I am learning...
from a new website called Brilliant where you can review and learn new math skills, plus science, coding, logic and technology. It's actually fun so far!

In my kitchen...
I made veggie and rice soup and froze over half of it. It's probably the last time I'll make soup until fall.

A quote...

A moment from this week...
this past Sunday Erin's friends put on a baby "sprinkle" for Erin.

For Today: April 22, 2025

Looking out my window...
it's 70 degrees! The warm weather is finally here!

I am hoping...
that we can order our mobile home soon and that it can be built and delivered in less than two months. That would be wonderful.

I am thinking...
about how our new grandson will be born soon! His due date is at the end of May, but Erin has been getting early braxton-hicks contractions, so it could be sooner.

I am thankful...
that Dan is getting better and better, and his lab work looks great! The doctor is hopeful, and we are grateful for him, and to God, who is the great healer.

One of my favorite things...
is being with my kids on holidays. We celebrated Easter with them this past Sunday. Dan, Christian and I went to church at The Bridge, then we hung out with the rest of the family outside, had a fun egg hunt, and we ordered Chinese food.

I am creating...
monthly and weekly spreads in a new happy planner. I stopped bullet journaling at the beginning of this year. I had been doing that for 7 years, and I missed it. Using the Happy Planner I don't need to put much time into it, but I can still have fun with stickers!

I am listening to...
The Plans by We the Kingdom

I am wearing...
a new teal shirt with pink flowers.

I am reading...
a book called Almost Amish: One Woman's Quest for a Slower, Simpler, more Sustainable Life  by Nancy Sleeth. I've always been interested in the Amish and simple living,  but the book is actually kind of boring, I hope it gets better.

I am watching...
Young Rock a sitcom about Dwayne Johnson's younger years.  We just finished the 3rd season and we really enjoyed it.

I am learning...
to be patient while waiting to move to our new home on our own property. It's taking so much longer than we thought it would. I thought we'd settled on the mobile home, but we are going to look at some different models today, and now we might get a double wide instead of the single wide.

In my kitchen...
I'm making egg rolls for the first time.
