  For Today: June 30, 2025

Looking out my window...
it's sunny, hot and muggy.

I am hoping...
to spend lots of time outside this summer.

I am thinking...
about how blessed I am to be able to spend time with  my grandkids, Vinny and Joey.

One of my favorite things...
is cuddling a newborn.

I am thankful...
for my parents. They are just the best! They've always been there for me, and they have been a huge influence, encouragement, and help in my life and my kid's lives.

I am creating...
knitted dish cloths again, and I finally finished the diamond painting I've been working on for the last few months.

I am listening to...
a book called When the Streetlights Come On: How a Return to Play Brightens Our Present and Prepares Our Kids For an Uncertain Future by Ginny Yurich. I just finished it this morning and I thought it was great! It was an encouragement to get the grandkids outside as much as we can.

I am wearing...
Jean shorts with a white shirt with blue and mauve flowers.

I am reading...
Walden: Life in the Woods  by Henry David Thoreau. I have heard it quoted by minimalists many times and I've wanted to read it for a while. I thought the beginning was boring, but it's getting better.

I am watching...
Casino with Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. It came out in the mid 90's and it's a movie based on real events. Some parts were pretty rough, but it was good.

I am learning...
to wait patiently for the property and our home to be ready. Dan and I are so looking forward to moving into our own home.

In my kitchen...
It's strawberry season, and we've been having strawberries from a local farm stand almost every evening.
And this week I made yogurt with a L. Reuteri a special probiotic strain with all kinds of amazing benefits. I can put the mason jars right in my instant pot to incubate it, then I can transfer it straight to the fridge. It's so easy! I don't usually like the taste of yogurt, but I forced myself to eat it with my homemade granola and it was alright.  Dan really liked it.

A quote....

A moment from this week a few months ago...
